He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Smith and Beatrice Alberta Smith; and his wife Elnora Smith. He is survived by: his children, Tawnya Chatmon (Jarvis), Gwendolyn D Richardson (Alfonce Sr), Beatrice A and Douglas C Smith Jr. (Brigette); and his sister Janet Davenport. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren.
