He was predeceased by: his parents, Farries Gaston and Vivian Gaston (Williams); his son Alvis Alan Gaston III; and his siblings, Laura Gardner, Pearl Kendrick, Joy Rollins, Farrilyn Diaz, Ras Gaston, Charles Walton and Donnie Walton.

He is survived by: his wife Patricia Renee Ray; his daughters, Shirelle Y. Armstrong, Alanicia M. Gaston and Skylar R. Perrimon; his siblings, Karen Newhouse, Gloria Little, Adrienne Smith, Eva Olivio, Marilyn Calhoun, Anita Gaston and Kim Harlan Gaston; and also, Frank Armstrong III and Tracy Perrimon.

Viewing was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Southern Cremations & Funerals (640 McGarity Rd, McDonough, GA 30252). A celebration of life was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at the Fairfield Baptist Church (6133 Redan Rd, Lithonia, GA 30058). A reception was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 3:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the Merle Manders Confrence Center (111 Davis Rd, Stockbridge, GA 30218).
