She was predeceased by: her parents, Mariman Lee Pless and Bessie Marie Ware Pless; her husband O. C. Griggs, Jr.; her son Charles Lee Griggs; her friend Doris Elizabeth Williams; her siblings-in-law, D. B. Williams, Berta Anderson, Drucilla Panter, Ophelia Galloway, George Griggs, Helen Gilliam and Imogene Deal; her niece Betty Ruth Thurman; and her close friends, Josephine, Hobert Williams and Hilda Bailey.
She is survived by: her daughter Carolyn Louise Griggs Mull; her grandchildren, Kevin Mull, Melissa Mull (Geoffrey Schwartz) and Amber Mull (Ryan Close); her sister-in-law Ozella Hellerstedt; and her friends, Sue Godfrey, Sandra Williams of Laurel Bailey, J. E., Martha Adams and Sharon Foster. She is also survived by nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to McCaysville United Methodist Church or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
