He is survived by: his wife Martha Ellen Bowman Burton; his children, Brian James Burton (Tricia), Elena Golden (Vince Eget) and Belinda Nichols; his sister Wanda Burton Caudill; his grandchildren, Tyler Durden (Jessica), Benjamin Golden (Charleny), Austin Golden (Sarah), Hannah Oliver (Clayton), Tanner Burton and Ainsley Burton; and his great grandchildren, Griffin Durden, Garrett Durden, Gauge Durden, Gwen Durden, Caroline Golden, Bennett Oliver, Annelise Golden and Hudson Golden.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Evans Funeral Home (1350 Winder Hwy, Jefferson, GA 30549). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 at the Evans Memory Gardens (1350 Winder Hwy, Jefferson, GA 30549).
