He was predeceased by: his parents, Issac Abernathy and Ethel Wiley Waldron; his wife Sandra Jean Burch Abernathy; his daughter Angela Denise Abernathy; his grandson Jack Collier; and his brother Butch Abernathy.
He is survived by: his daughters, Linda Jean Reyes of Norcross, GA and Lisa Ann Stiwinter of Gillsville, GA.; his grandchildren, Tiffany Black, Nicholas Daily, Vernoica Daily, Blake Abernathy, Ryder Abernathy and Breanna Petty John; and his sisters, Arlene Smith of Jefferson, GA, Darlene Reeves of Banks Co, Tammy Hightower of Nicholson, GA and Sue Gazaway of Banks Co. He is also survived by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
