He is survived by: his wife Venita Carol Thompson of Maysville; his children, Susan Melisse Hershberger (Jimmy) of Commerce, Gary Lathan Thompson of Commerce, Stephanie Reed Scogin (Rodney) of Newberry, SC and Jonathan Patrick Thompson (Susan) of Braselton; his siblings, Janie Thompson of North Augusta, SC and Timothy Thompson of Elberton; and his grandchildren, Sophia Torres, Isiah Topa and Justin Thompson. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren.
