He was predeceased by: his parents, J. B. Boyd and Mary Cochran of Virginia; his wife Meatrice Norman Boyd; and his sister Glenda Alice Smith. He is survived by: his children, Joel Lee Boyd (Cathleen) of Butler, Timothy Mark Boyd of California, Phyllis Annette Boyd of California, Cynthia Chastain (Chris) of Loganville and Therese Haynie (Jim) of High Falls; and his brother James Kenneth Boyd of Pensacola, FL. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
