With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Billy Don Hughes of Matthews, Georgia, born in Monroe, Louisiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 26, 2024 at the age of 87. He was predeceased by: his parents, Gladys Lambert Hughes and Luther Hughes; and his sisters, Vivian Bass and Charlene Murphy. He is survived by: his wife Geraldine Anderson Hughes; his children, Charles "Chucky" Hughes, Gary Hughes (Kay), Donna H. Cheeks (Rod) and Jimmy Hughes (Zeh); his grandchildren, Amanda Walden (Barrow), Kenneth Hughes (Katie), Zach Hughes (Ashley), Kaytie (Hughes), Tara Parrish (Clay), Allie Hughes and Brooke Hughes; his great grandchildren, Bree Hopper (Josh), Treb Walden, Dalton Hughes, Addison Hughes, Peyton Hughes, Gavin Hughes, Walker Hughes, Cole Parrish, Chloe Parrish and Charli Parrish; his great great grandchild Rhett Hopper; and his brothers, James Hughes and Larry Wayne Hughes (Joy).
The military honors was held on Sunday, October 6th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Keysville United Methodist Church Cemetery.
