It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Thomas Alvin Mitchell of Martin, Georgia, born in Greenwood, South Carolina, who passed away on March 2, 2022, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Corbitt Thomas Mitchell and Annie Lizzie Cobb Mitchell; his wife Carolyn Edwards Mitchell; his sister Nell Smith; and his brothers-in-law, Tommy Smith and Billy Murphy.
He is survived by: his daughter Angela Kay (Steve) of Jonesboro; his grandchildren, Evan Kay (Meaghan), Ryan Kay (Sierra) and Megan Kay; his great grandchild Cohen Kay; and his siblings, Ted Mitchell (Patsy), David Mitchell (Joy), Jerry Mitchell (Montine), Margaret Murphy, Patricia Staples (Mike) and Mary Holloway (Tommy). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
