He is survived by: his spouse Margie Shoun Pittman; his children, Margaret (Michael Bohannon), Debra (Richard Kirk), Ronald (Barbara Pittman), Robert (Cindy Pittman), Victor Pittman of Martin and David (Beth Pittman); his sister Mildred Cochran; and his half-siblings, Donald Pittman of North Carolina, Ricky Pittman of California, Geraldine Williams of North Carolina, Joyce Bush of North Carolina, Dorothy Abernathy of North Carolina, Faye Haynes of North Carolina and Wanda Macauley of North Carolina. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
