He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Oliver and Jewell Ione Burrell Whisnant; and his siblings, Luckie Barton, Lynn Bross, Joel Whisnant, Leonard Whisnant and Danny Whisnant.
He is survived by: his children, Vince Whisnant, Leigh Vaughan (Rodney), Tracey Whisnant and Stacey Herron (Kim); his siblings, Ervin Whisnant, Joan Dailey (Dennis), Melinda Payne, Deborah Everest, Hilda Pearson and Pat Simmons; his brother-in-law Paul Bross; and his grandchildren, Kayla Fleming (Jared), Kelsey Wiedler (Steven), Courtney Chappelear (Randy), Cacey Leming (Kyle), Amanda Whisnant and Frank Whisnant (Jessica).
Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 22nd 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, October 23rd 2024 at 1:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 23rd 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary (120 Rose Ln, Toccoa, GA 30577). A burial was held on Wednesday, October 23rd 2024 at the Zebulon Baptist Church Cemetery (1083 W Currahee St, Toccoa, GA 30577).
