He was predeceased by: his parents, Murphy Arlee Petty and Lois Othelia Petty; his wife Ellen Howard Petty; and his siblings, Murph, Jack and Janelle.
He is survived by: his daughters, Lizette Petty Smith (Carey) of Carrollton, Lisa Petty of Marietta and Leslie Ellen Petty (Bo Graham) of Memphis, TN; and his grandchildren, Cody (Michelle), Clayton (Ashley), Cayla (Nathan), Richie (Brittany), Belle (Autry), Andrew, Merrin and Bryson. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; and many beloved extended family members and friends.
