He was predeceased by: his parents, Austin Atkins and Gladys Atkins; his sister Babe Atkins Byrne; and his former wife Mary Jo Ellerbee Atkins. He is survived by: his wife Jennifer McGahan Atkins; his children, Chip Atkins (Ruthann) and Paige Post (Dan); his stepchildren, Justin Yarbrough (Elizabeth) and Stacy Yarbrough; his grandchildren, Will, Tate, Ari, Ryder and Tanner; his stepgrandchildren, Olivia, Everett, Tanner and Claire; and his siblings, Gene Atkins (Harriett), Gary Atkins (Anne) and Sharkey Gill (Bob). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bill's honor can be made to Must Ministries or the William Atkins Scholarship Fund at Mercer School of Pharmacy.
