He was predeceased by: his parents, Herschel Simmons and Clora Simmons; his sister Pat; and his brother-in-law Charlie Phillips of Stuarts Draft, VA. He is survived by: his wife Judith Kay Beck of Staunton; his children, Michael Scott of Boston, MA and Terri Lynn (Simmons) of Powder Springs, GA.; his children-in-law, Anna Simmons (Bursaux) of Boston, MA and David Fritz of Powder Springs; his grandchildren, Erin, Zachary, Emily, Samuel, Leah, Anna, Michael and Noa; and his great grandchildren, Christian, Charlotte and Jordan.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to The Salvation Army as this organization was very near and dear to Bob, and where he spent many years of service "ringing the bell" at Christmas time.
