It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Maria Saavedra of Marietta, Georgia, who passed away on March 3, 2025, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lauriano Saavedra and Juana Saavedra; her husband Juan Ganchoso; her grandson Hugo Torres, Jr.; and her siblings, Julio, Hilda and Chano.
She is survived by: her children, Mariana Dufflar (Hernan Tenesaca), Carmen Dufflar, Teresa Alvarez (Mauro Alvarez), Manulea Ganchos (Manuel Garcia) and Jenny Galan; and her siblings, Lucho, Leticia and Enriquetta. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM at the Benson Funeral Home, Inc. (309 Hardee St, Dallas, GA 30132). A graveside service was held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Dallas Memory Gardens (444 Confederate Ave, Dallas, GA 30132).
