It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Lonnie Alfred Love (Marietta, Georgia), who passed away on January 28, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
Though Lonnie Alfred may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Lonnie Alfred touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Godsey Love; his nephews, Jonathan Acree and Philip Godsey (Amber); his great-nephew Wesley Godsey; and his siblings-in-law, David and Vickey Godsey.
A celebration of life was held on Monday, February 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church of Marietta (56 Whitlock Ave NW, Marietta, GA 30064).
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in loving memory of Lonnie to the Cheryl Godsey Love Scholarship with the Marietta School Foundation, continuing his passion for supporting students' education.
