He is survived by: his parents, James Gardner and Frankie Fling Newman; his wife Lissa Gill Newman; his sons, Gardner Newman II (LeAnn) of Fredericksburg, Chris Newman (Kim) of McLean, Gus Newman of Arlington and Luke Newman of Atlanta; his siblings, Nancy Durand (Dan) of LaGrange, Pete Newman (Dawn) of LaGrange, Ruth Perdue (Phil) of LaGrange, Chunk Newman (Leigh) of LaGrange and Ivy Jones of Greer; his grandchildren, Thomas, Ella, Caitlyn, Landry and Will Newman; his former wife Diane Parker Heydt of Sarasota; and his pets, Jack, Watson and Spit. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
