He is survived by: his daughter Ann Walters; his son-in-law Jim Walters; his son A. J. McGunigal; his grandchildren, Alicia and Kyle Walters; his sister Marylou Constable; and his sisters-in-law, Evelyn Gill and Rachel Hanna.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Trinity Hospice of Georgia.
