Though Garvis may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.

He was predeceased by: his father Garvis Leon Sams, Sr.; and his wife Cloma Lynn Sams. He is survived by: his mother Sybil Phillips Sams; his daughters, Amy Sams Lyda, Emily Sams Brown (Dan) and Alisha Stark (Chuck); and his grandchildren, Sams Blake Lyda, Rayme Claire Brown and Arden Deborah Brown. He is also survived by several cousins on his mother.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Marietta (148 Church St, Marietta, GA 30060). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
