It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Carol Jean Higgins (Marietta, Georgia), who passed away on November 13, 2024, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Carol Jean may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Arnold E. Hanson and Coleta M. Rodgers Hanson. She is survived by: her husband Tom; her children, Brian Higgins (Kim) of Kennesaw, Laura Faulkner (Shawn) of Leavenworth, Eileen Higgins of Smyrna and Kevin Higgins (Heather) of Lee's Summit; her brother John Hanson (Melinda) of Topeka; and her sisters-in-law, Betty Hanson of Murray and Nancy Burton of Potomac. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Southern Cremations and Funerals Columbarium (1861 Dallas Hwy, Marietta, GA 30064). A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the same location. A reception was held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
