He was predeceased by: his parents, Waymond Edward and Emmie Folds Brooks. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Barker Brooks; his sons, Christopher S. Brooks of Stockbridge and Bobby Shane Brooks (Jill) of Jackson; his grandchildren, Blake, Nick, Levi and Sarah; his sister Linda Dale Greer of Port Richey; and his niece Rhonda Baughcum (Randy) of Land.
