Mary S. Varnadore McClellan Obituary
Mrs. Mary S. Varnadore McClellan, 69, died suddenly Wednesday morning (June 1, 2022) at Memorial Satilla Health.
She was born in Bradenton, FL, but she has lived most of her life in Ware County where she graduated high school. Mary has resided in Manor since 1983. She retired from the Ware County Road Department as a dump truck driver, and she formerly operated the City of Waycross Weigh Station. Mary was currently working at the Solar Express Store in Manor. She was a dedicated member of the Place of Blessings Church of God in Argyle. Mary loved serving the Lord through the bus ministry and childrens' church.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard Varnadore and Betty Jo Clements Varnadore; her husband, Taylor Eugene "Gene" McClellan; and two brothers, Steve Varnadore and Henry Varnadore.
Survivors include six children, Gordon McClellan, Henry McClellan, Mitchell McClellan (Shannan), Brenda McClellan, Barbara Ann Houser (Mark) and Genia Legget (Timmy); 15 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; two siblings, Tony Varnadore and Dorothy Easterling; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday (June 6, 2022) at the Place of Blessings Church of God in Argyle. The family will receive friends 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday at the church. Burial will follow in Suwannee Chapel Cemetery in Manor.
