He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Bradford Carmichael, Sr. and Iva Lee James Carmichael; his wife Shirel Jean Colley Carmichael; his brothers, E. B. Carmichael, Jr., Carey Duncan Carmichael and James Allen Carmichael; his parents-in-law, Ottis and Inez Colley; and his siblings-in-law, Diane and Junior Johnson.
He is survived by: his sons, Joseph Daniel "Danny" Carmichael, Jr. (Kimberly) of New Market, AL and Eli Carmichael; his grandsons, Aydan and Gabe Carmichael; his siblings-in-law, Eleanor Carmichael of Manor, Janice Carmichael of Manor, Jamie Carmichael of Manor, Tommy Colley (Patsy) of Offerman, Edward Colley (Carol) of Patterson and Gary Colley (June) of Offerman; and his close friends, Debbie Lee, Buddy O'Berry and Charles Mills. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
