It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vanessa Jean Thurmond of Madison, Georgia, born in Athens, Georgia, who passed away on December 12, 2020, at the age of 57, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Leon Thurmond and Shelby Jean Sapp Thurmond; her close friend David Lee Shields; and her sister Teresa Bullins. She is survived by: her sons, James Leon Thurmond, Brandon David Shields and Brian Lee Shields; and her brother Tony Bullins. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren.
