It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Barksdale III of Madison, Georgia, who passed away on January 24, 2023, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, John Barksdale and Annie Claire Barksdale; his grandparents, John, Sophie Barksdale, Lucien and Lizzie Kate Slappey; his aunts, Katherine 'Kakie Oates and Lucia 'Wuchie Titshaw; and his daughters, Ellen Claire Barksdale and Amanda Leeann Barksdale.

He is survived by: his wife Sharon Barksdale; his son Jeffrey (Ashley Barksdale); his grandchildren, Adeline and Beckett Barksdale; his brother Billy (Jane Barksdale); his nephew Bill (Jodie Barksdale); his niece Tracie Barksdale; his cousin Claire Rutland; and also, Thad Howell, Will and Haley Howell.
