It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Howard A. Thompson of Madison, Georgia, who passed away on January 8, 2025, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Irby Thompson and Velma Holtzclaw Thompson; his son Shawn Thompson; his grandson Joseph Cole-Epps; his brother Jimmy Thompson; and his stepmother Sarah Thompson.
He is survived by: his wife Dale Murray; his children, Brian Thompson (Christina), Amanda Thompson Mealor (Derrick), Dawn Hutton, Jody Hutton and Joey Hutton (Teanna); his grandchildren, Victoria Squires, Valeria Lackey, Shawn Chase Thompson, Hope Mealor, Alexander Mealor, Taylor Smith, Miriah Cain-Epps, Chris Epps, Tyra Hutton, Jaela Hutton and Caleb Hutton; his sister Claudia Giddens; and his sister-in-law Barbara Cadle.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the A. E. Carter Funeral Home Chapel (1670 Atlanta Hwy, Madison, GA 30650). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to assist the family.
