He was predeceased by: his parents, Marie II and Paul G. Smaha II; and his father-in-law Cheung Sun Pong. He is survived by: his wife Carol Smaha; his children, Katlyn Smaha, Paul Smaha, Jake Smaha and Josh Smaha; his siblings, Kim Smaha of Macon and Jason Smaha (Michelle); his nieces and nephews, Jason Smaha, Heather Smaha and Tori Smaha of Macon; his stepmother-in-law Jean Pong of Queens; and his brothers-in-law, Will Pong, Allen Pong and Jack Pong.
