He was predeceased by: his father Burke Gibson Whitehurst, Sr.. He is survived by: his mother Mary G. Whitehurst Whitehurst,; and his siblings, Ellie Pennington (Herb), Gail Funderburk, Carol Wylie (Frank) and Martin Whitehurst (Susan). He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
