He was predeceased by: his parents, William Joseph West and Estelle Taylor West; his brother Jackie Derrell West; and his son-in-law Dr. William H. Terry III. He is survived by: his wife Leola Lanell Durden West; his children, Terri West Terry, Sandra Austin (Mike) and Jason Eugene West; his grandchildren, Justin Bell (Tallie), Jared Bell, Kayla Page, Amelia Gottom, Cole Austin and Olivia Austin; and his great grandchildren, Brynlee Bell, Dallin Bell, Brayden Bell and Tryson Bell.

“I was so saddened when I viewed the obituary of Donald. I attended Dudley Hughes with Donald and had him as a classmate in several classes. He was one of the nice guys at the school. As Christians we have solace in the fact that one day soon we will again see Donald in the resurrection that Jehovah God has promise. Some whom has died have an heavenly calling bu the majority of us will live in peace on eart once God has made it perfect. After all, that was God's original purpose for man.”
