It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alva Jean Shipman of Macon, Georgia, who passed away on February 14, 2025, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though Alva Jean may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the memories held dear by her family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Alvin Payne and Dorothy Mozelle Minshew; and her sisters, Peggy Reeves Fussell and Donna Reeves Collins. She is survived by: her son Christopher Payne; and her sisters, Sandra Oliver (Sloan) and Nell Jenkins (Jerry). She is also survived by extended family; and numerous friends.
