She was predeceased by: her parents, Columbus Sr. McDaniel and Eartha McDaniel; her husband Jerry Wayne Elam; her siblings, Ledora Hernley and Columbus McDaniel Jr.; and her niece Sherlandel Nesbitt-Payne.
She is survived by: her daughters, Shavonne and Shamika Elam of Champaign, IL; her grandchildren, Da'Vonne Elam of Champaign, Clifvonte'Motley of Champaign, Mauresha Elam of Champaign and Triston Peete of Champaign; her sister Lorrie; her brother-in-law Michael Crosby of Rantoul; and her brother Daryon McDaniel (Lori) of Champaign. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends and family.
