It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth Lyde McCoy of Lyons, Georgia, born in Manassas, Georgia, who passed away on July 31, 2024, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Reverend Nelson Lyde and Noner Lyde; her stepmother Geneva Lyde; and her brothers, William and John Lyde.
She is survived by: her daughters, Sadiria McCoy Wright of Riverdale and Lydia McCoy Walker of Americus, GA; and her siblings, Zack Lyde (Gladys), Phillip Lyde of Charlotte, NC, Harry Lyde of Garden City, GA, Eddie Lyde of Atlanta, GA, Arthur Lyde of Brunswick, GA, Marilyn Lyde of Hinesville, GA, Deborah Sims of College Park, GA, Gloria Smith (Isaiarh) of Plainfield, NJ, Erlene Lyde of Charlotte, NC and Laura (Victor) of Allen Hurst, GA.. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
