He was predeceased by: his wife Wauthene Davis Stewart; his son Tillman Stewart; his granddaughter Lacey Jo Stewart; his daughter-in-law Marynell Stewart; and his parents, Joseph Olen Stewart and Sallie Lee Heckel Stewart.
He is survived by: his children, David D. Stewart of Santa Claus, Lawanna Griffin (John) of Lyons and Sherry Screws (Willie) of Hayesville; and his great grandchildren, Andy Stewart, Reggie Screws, Dennis Mosley, Jason Mosley, Scottie Griffin, John R. Griffin and Dustin Collins. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren, fifteen great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
