It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Doyal Leonard Momon Sr. (Lyerly, Georgia), who passed away on December 12, 2019, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Alexander Momon and Gertrude Allred Momon; his wife Betty Jean Sprayberry Momon; and his siblings, Lamar Momon, Francis Gilreath and Inez Howell.
He is survived by: his children, Donna Jean Thurston (Merle), Elaine Shawcross (Geoff) and Doyal Momon, Jr. (Lori); his brothers, William "Sid" Momon (Edna) of Coosa, GA and Carl Momon (Mary Jo) of Coosa, GA; his grandchildren, Lindsey Momon, Lexis Momon, Dana Battle, Anthony Thurston, Keith Shawcross and Bryce Shawcross; his great grandchildren, Kinsey, Bailey and Briley Battle; and his son-in-law Geoff Shawcross. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
