He was predeceased by: his parents, Bence Matthew and Hattie Marie Payton Anderson; his son Matthew Bence Anderson; his siblings, James "Bud" Anderson, Annie Woodall, Mary Blalock, Willie Sizemore, Bessie Mann and Betty Anderson; and his son-in-law Fredrick Hulse.
He is survived by: his wife Ellen Louise Bryson Anderson; his children, Mark Anderson (April), Diane Hulse and Mary Ragan (David); his daughter-in-law Patty Denny; and his siblings-in-law, Cathaline Anderson and John Mann. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
