She was loved and cherished by many people including: her father Talmadge Eugene Powell; her stepdaughter Candace Brown; her husband Jerry Thompson of Lumber City; her daughter Carla Watkins of Nahunta; her stepdaughters, Holly Thompson of Lumber City and Heidi Toler; her son James Carlton Deese of Wheeler County; her mother Wilma Jean Davis; and her siblings, Teresa Spires of Milan, Archie Powell and Tim Deen. She was also cherished by fourteen grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
