He is survived by: his significant other Ruby Abernathy; his son John Wayne; his daughter-in-law Wendi Abernathy; his daughters, Denise Smith and Gay Waters; his son-in-law Scott Waters; his grandchildren, Kacee Criddle (Tim), Amy Smith (Cory Tucker), Renee Porter (Chris), Matthew Waters (Betsy), Ryan Waters and Lauren Abernathy (Nick Rouadi); his great grandchildren, Elijah Thompson, Alivia Criddle, Madison Criddle, Jacob Criddle, Jace Waters and Watson Porter; and his close friend Dennis Brown.
