He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Tilson and Fannie Erwin Tilson; his daughter Clarice Tilson; and his siblings, Lawton Erwin, J. C. Tilson, Truman Tilson, Hazel Robinson and Marie Collins.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Campbell Tilson of Lula; his children, Malissa Reems, Amanda Jarrard, Tommy "Larry" Tilson, Jr. and David Matthew Tilson; and his sister Janie Baker of Commerce. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
