He was predeceased by: his parents, Lando Stephens and Sally Edmonds Stephens; his wife Ethel Maney Stephens of Hayesville; his siblings, Fred of Grady, JD, Edgar, Ralph, Jack Stephens, Grace Carter, Mae Heimberger and Bernice Armour; and his children, Jerry Stephens and Brenda Sue Stephens.
He is survived by: his daughters, Betty Turpin (Roy) of Gillsville, Mae Stewart of Lula, Grace Hardy of Lula and Bernice Hatcher of Baldwin, Georgia.; and his grandchildren, Sandy Salyers, Chris Turpin, Traci Holloway, Crystal Roach, Robby Swain, April Kalaj, Jay Hawkins, Adam Hatcher, Haleigh Bridges and Hannah Hatcher. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
