He is survived by: his daughter-in-law Susan Boyd, Jr.; his daughter Jeannette Boyd Bacon; his grandson NaCiest Alton; his wife Helen Boyd; his sister Verdelle Davis; his children, Harriet Berry (Tommie), Clyde M. Boyd, Jr. (Susan), Herbert L. Boyd (Jean) and Earnest F. Boyd (Joyce); his stepchildren, Queenie Nelson Erkins, Jacqueline T (Ronald Butler) and Rufus M. Nelson (Dannette); and his daughter Elders Anthony. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends.
