Velia is survived by: husband Willie Charles McCall; son Damon Strozier (Artavia); adoptive daughters, Deboney Gainer and Dezma Gainer; grandchildren, Ishmael John, Melanie Winton, Damon Strozier II, Aaron Strozier and Branden Strozier; parent Simeon Bridgewater, Sr. (Gertrude); and siblings, Patsy Banks (Johnny), Margaret Gainer (Allen), Angela Johnson (Stephen), Theodore Bridgewater, Sr. (Joy) and Travis Hall (Arnita). Velia is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
