He was predeceased by: his parents, James New and Eula Bell New; and his siblings, Evelyn, Grace, Nicky, Geraldine, Faye, Bennie, Carlton and Joseph.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis New; his children, Stacey New (Gail) of Milledgeville and Rev. Karen Breedlove (Bill) of Adrian; his grandsons, Derek Davis (Amanda) of Bartow, John Davis of Pooler, Michael New of Milledgeville and Bryan Pearson (Bronwyn) of Milledgeville; and his great grandchildren, Derek Davis, Jr. of Bartow, Ariana Person of Milledgeville and Elena Pearson of Milledgeville. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
