He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Farrer and Daisy Farrer of Louisville, Georgia.; his son Joel Jerome Farrer, Jr.; and his brothers, John Farrer, Bill Farrer and Henry Farrer.
He is survived by: his wife Elois Darroch Farrer of Pflugerville, Texas; his children, Mark (Angie Farrer) and Sandra (George Littlejohn); his grandchildren, Jacob Farrer, Anna Kate Littlejohn, Julie Littlejohn and Bryan Littlejohn; and his siblings, Mary (Norman Baker, Sr.) and Walter "Ike" (Jenel Farrer, Jr.). He is also survived by his brothers and many cousins.
