With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Essie Mae Washington Thompson (Louisville, Georgia), born in Jefferson, Georgia, who passed away on October 28, 2020. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Tommy Thompson; her daughter Vickie Bynes; and her siblings, Emma Lee Smith, Lettie Bell of Washington, Mildred of Washington, George, Sr. of Washington and Willie Lee of Washington.
She is survived by: her children, Margaret Mingle (Johnny) of Louisville, GA, Martha Winn (Cornell), Mary Bynes, Ronnie Bynes (Gale) and Kirk Thompson; and her sister Lanoria Ivery of Augusta, GA. She is also survived by several grandchildren, nieces.
Graveside services will be held Sunday, November 1, 2020 at 2:00 P. M. at the Spring Bethel Benevolent Society Cemetery with mask and social distancing.
