With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Robert Melvin Leatherwood of Loganville, Georgia, born in Murphy, North Carolina, who passed away on October 31, 2024 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Leatherwood, Sr. and Lola Palmer Leatherwood; his former wife Thelma Jane Johnson Leatherwood; his sister Mildred; his brother-in-law Paul Outland; his brothers, Maynard Leatherwood and Tommy Leatherwood; and his great grandchild J. J. Yun.
He is survived by: his wife Yvonne Grant Leatherwood of Loganville; his children, Robert Steven Leatherwood of Greenville and Leigh Anne Weckel of Wilmington; his stepchildren, Terry Turk of Douglasville, Rhonda Coffin of Loganville and John Todd Morgan of Hoschton; his grandchildren, Kristen Marangoni, Robert Leatherwood, Kara Melick, Amanda Jones, Terry Whaley, Jason Weckel, Jessica Weckel, Alicia Brodwater, Brittany Coffin, Phillip Coffin, Kirk Coffin, Madison Morgan and McCay Morgan; his great grandchildren, Ilaria Marangoni, Elena Marangoni, Gianluca Marangoni, Lorenzo Marangoni, Hugh Leatherwood, Eloise Leatherwood, Rhetta Leatherwood, Arnold Leatherwood, Marley Melick, Rudy Melick, Della Melick, Hudson Weckel, Lily Weckel, Avery Brodwater, Wesley Brodwater, Luke Brodwater, Haley Epperson, Chase Epperson, Chance Epperson, Ryder Wilson, Kadence Coffin, Kolin Coffin, Kallie Coffin, Charlotte Yun and Ella Yun; and his great great grandchild Lawson Epperson.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Evans Funeral Home (1350 Winder Hwy, Jefferson, GA 30549). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home (1350 Winder Hwy, Jefferson, GA 30549). A burial was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at the Evans Memory Gardens (1350 Winder Hwy, Jefferson, GA 30549).
