He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Richard Read and June Baker Read; his sister Patricia; his wife Donna Hall Read; his children, Kathryn "Katey" Garner (Brad Garner), Melissa Read (Greg Schultz) and Carley Smith; his grandchildren, Mike Myers, Dorian McNall, Daisy Garner Kaliher (Shawn Kaliher), Alayna Burger, Wyatt Smith, Belle Smith and Haven Smith; and his great grandchild Kyla Kathryn Meyers.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Eternal Hills Funeral Home (3594 Stone Mountain Hwy, Snellville, GA 30039). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A committal service was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the Eternal Hills Memory Gardens (3700 Stone Mountain Hwy, Snellville, GA 30039).
In lieu of flowers, his family requests donations be made to his church Smoke Rise Baptist in Stone Mountain, GA.
