She was predeceased by: her father Emory Preston Shiflett; her husband Cecil Brady Gayton; and her siblings, Jewel Shiflett, Whitson Shiflett, Faye Cox, Mae Hindmon, Sarah Griggs, Addie Ruth Cain, Mamie Lou Marks, Dewey Shiflett, Albert Shiflett and Kenneth Shiflett.
She is survived by: her children, John Emory Gayton (Joy) of Kailua, HI, Betty G. Reynolds (John) of Loganville, GA and Wanda G. Harris (Eric) of Jefferson, GA; her grandchildren, Anna Lara (Bingy) of Lynnwood, WA, Preston Gayton (Savannah), Jack Gayton Salt (Paige Krill), Leah Gayton, Brady, Will Reynolds of Loganville, GA, Sarah Beth Harris of Watkinsville, GA and Drew Harris of Orlando, FL.; her great grandchildren, Beckham, Hayes Gayton, Caius, Mabel Lara of Lynwood, WA and Carter Turner of Jefferson, GA.; her brothers, Charles Shiflett (Peggy) of Kennesaw, GA and Wallace Shiflett (Jo Ann) of Lindale, GA; and her sisters-in-law, Betty Lou Shiflett of Lindale, GA, Jo Ann Shiflett of Lindale, GA and Betty Shiflett of Rome, GA. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
