He is survived by: his wife Joan Thigpen Arrington; his children, Angela Haynes (Richard, Jr.), Terri Mason (Douglas) and Thomas Nicholson Arrington (Allison); and his grandchildren, Madison Patricia Haynes, Alexandra Grace Haynes and Michael Arrington. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
