He is survived by: his significant other Shannon Vess of Locust Grove; his children, Destinee Jones (Paul) of Knoxville, TN and Brandon Lane (Lindsey) of Locust Grove; his siblings, Sylvia Swanger (James) of Stockbridge, Melinda Szatkowski (Eric) of McDonough and Wendell Lane of Lavonia; and his sisters-in-law, Bonnie Lane and Wanda Lane. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Because I was married to his brother, Alan lane and I didn’t know the details of Joe, but it all came back to me and I finally found him. Joe was one of a kind and a good dude.
