He was predeceased by: his wife Hazel Watson Howell; his son Monty Howell; his parents, Willie Clarence and Dorothy Howell; and his brother Donald Howell.
He is survived by: his children, Luke Howell of Lithonia, Buck Howell (Vicki) of Stockbridge, Deanne Harper of Stockbridge and Donna Lund (Ricky) of Buckhead; his grandchildren, Victoria Harris, Austin (Evan Howell), Walker (Wyatt Howell) and Levi Lund; his great grandchildren, Marlee, Avery and Hazel; and his siblings, Martha Ann Marcus of Marietta, Earnest Howell of Newborn and Eddie Howell (Donna). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
